SUMMER 2018-EVENTS AND EXHIBITIONS IN LONDON

2018 is shaping up to be another great year of exhibitions and events in London, including gallery re-openings, blockbuster exhibitions, carnivals and many more. In this post I will be mentioning some of the events I am looking forward to this summer.  Check it out and drop a comment 🙂 Somewhere in Between (8 March 2018–27 August 2018) In this exhibition we have 4 artists, Martina Amati, Maria McKinney, Daria Martin and John Walter, who each collaborated with scientists to examine ideas that are important to human life – ideas around our senses, our food sources, our sexual health and the limitations of our bodies. In this exhibition you will see: ‘Alien Sex Club’ by John Walter                     https://wellcomecollection.org/installations/WqwC1iAAAB8AJgFB ‘Sensorium Tests’ and ‘At the Threshold’ by Daria Martin    https://wellcomecollection.org/installations/Wryoox8AAAjk9Xr0 ‘Under’ by Martina Amati                   …

ANOTHER KIND OF LIFE – EXHIBITION REVIEW

Photography on the Margins. . . THE BARBICAN CENTRE PRESENTS AN OUT OF THIS WORLD EXHIBITION A translucent thought into what the world could be and what could seem to be, forms from  this mind-blowing exhibition of photography. Experiences like this barely exist, depending on what type of person you are and how you perceive your life. Being the thoughtful thinker that I myself am, and exposing myself to this exhibition brought harmony to my soul. As an artist, creator and a writer, to know that there were these photographers that were alive and some still are. You witness this overwhelming feeling of emotion when you walk around the gallery, it is incredibly heart-warming. Gazing upon the 20 photographers with such diversities, the exhibit opens your mind focusing it to witness and read. I am refusing to speak details of the work, names of pieces, from this exhibition. As for…

ILAKATI WORKSHOP

INTRODUCE YOURSELF Sofia and Marina met a few years ago in their hometown Veria, Greece. Sofia moved back from Mykonos (where she had been living the past year) and got a job at her mothers tailoring shop which happened to be close to Marinas workplace. That is how they met and became friends almost immediately. What they had in common was their love of fashion, design and bags especially. Every day during their morning coffee they would brain storm and share their ideas with each other. And one day Ilakati workshop was born. Just like that! Ilakati workshop is a fresh talented duet that creates bags mainly and their designs stand out because of their unique style. They are going to introduce themselves to us today, enjoy… Who Are You? What Do You Do? Hi!! We are Marina Zaharioudaki and Sofia Ekmektsi and we are both from Greece. We are two…

FUNKY HOME DECOR GUIDE

Living in London, one thing is absolutely sure… you’ll have to move many times until you end up finally finding the one and only place that meets your standards perfectly, as well as your stuff and your pocket. If that happens and the stars are alined or you win the lottery, you should actually buy it! Finding the perfect flat can be challenging! It can be really tiring but really refreshing at the same time. Every time you move to a new place, you get the feeling that of starting all over again. It feels like when you turn your notebook in a new blank page. But as with the notebook, you have to be cautious which pen colour you’ll use, so the result looks pretty and not smudged. Thankfully nowadays online shopping has saved us so much time and actual physical effort, not mental though, because you still need to spend…
